Easy Balti (Karahi) Chicken
Easy Indian Cooking
Chicken is precooked in Curry Masala till tender.
Chopped tomatoes are added and stir fry on high heat before serving.
This popular dish is cooked and served in a Karahi (wok) hence its
name. but it can be
prepared in an ordinary pan as well. It is served with Naans, salad
and Raita (yogurt salad).

tablespoons oil
2 1/2-3 lb. chicken pieces skinned and
cut into small pieces.
Curry
Masala Mix: 1 Pack

cup water

medium tomatoes, chopped
1-2
green chilies, chopped
3-4
tbs.. fresh cilantro leaves chopped (optional)
In a medium wok or large frying pan, heat oil on medium high heat.
Add chicken pieces and starry till browned.
Add Curry Masala Mix and stir fry for a minutes.
Add water. Mix well and reduce heat to medium.
Cover and cook till chicken is tender and water is gone.
Add tomatoes and green chilies. Increase heat to high and stir fry
till masala (sauce)
is thick and oil appears on surface.
Turn heat off. Garnish with fresh chopped cilantro leaves.
Serves 6-8.
Note: To increase
spiciness add red pepper or chopped green chilies.
To reduce spiciness and flavor, use less mix
and add salt.
